To Die For | TAC

The Split Second Film Competition is an annual initiative run by the Transport Accident Commission and advertising agency TABOO. The competition invites Victorians aged 18–25 to create an idea for a life-saving road safety film—an idea a little left of field, without gore, and that speaks to young drivers. In 2022, the brief was on drink driving…

If you knew that one more drink would kill you, you wouldn't have it. So, settle into your cinema seats with a bartender teaching you how to make the Car Crash cocktail.

As the 2021 winner, I brought my script to life with a $70k budget and the expertise of Sweetshop to guide my directorial debut. I can't thank everyone enough for their commitment to my concept and the freedom to be hands-on from start to finish—writing, casting, directing, in the edit suite and more.

'To Die For' screened at Village Cinemas across Victoria throughout the entirety of 2022.

Drinking and driving don't mix.
